CKScanner - Additional Security Risks - These are not necessarily bad
c:\documents and settings\maria\desktop\diafora\cryptload\plugins\crypt.dll
c:\documents and settings\maria\my documents\cd covers\nutcracker.zdl
scanner sequence 3.LB.11.QRBBHK
 ----- EOF -----

BUT: When I clicked save, the computer freezed and so I made a restart and run the program again (this happened twice).

Hi, DR M.

Since your computer froze, let's see another log.  Please download WVCheck from here.
  • Extract WVCheck.exe to your desktop and then double-click WVCheck.exe.
  • As indicated by the prompt, this program can take a while depending on your hard drive space.
  • Once the program is done, copy the contents of the notepad file as a reply.

Hi Corrine.

The link for WVCheck does not work (Invalid ID, numbers (0-9) only!).

Thank you, DR M.  I'll notify the developer.  In the meantime, please download and install the WGA Diagnostic Tool:
      http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=56062
  • Click Run and Run again
  • Click Continue, click Copy
  • Post the results in your next reply.

Where are the results? I cannot find them. Where they were copied?

Anyway, my Windows is the original software. Genuine.

Ok, Corrine, I understood! I should copy and paste the results.

I have a request here: since these results contain information about product numbers etc, I would like to send them with pm. Can I, please?

PS: I have started thinking of format... What do you say?  :(

Hi, DR M.

The full product key is not included in the results.  However, if you wish to send via PM, that's ok.

Hi, Corrine.

I am writing from the computer I used to follow your downloading instructions when the virus blocked internet access in my computer. I DECIDED TO FORMAT IT. Why? I was ready to sent you p.m., when suddenly it threw me out of the forum and the internet as well. I got tired with it and so I found the xp cd and I am starting its formating NOW!!!

I also decided to format this computer. You see, I got very suspicious about that virus, and I want to get rid from everything that remind it to me. So, I got my dell cd, to make a clean install of windows.

BUT:  The computer froze when the windows licence agreement screen appeared. I cannot click F8 to continue...

PLEASE, SAVE ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    :embarrassed:

Sorry, DR M.  It could be that you are having hardware issues with the computer.  Perhaps the suggestion here will work:  How to Install Windows XP Pro When the Computer Freezes | eHow.com.

This computer is a Dell inspiron netbook. It has its own cd for windows home installation.

Now I am formating my computer (the other one) with a cd of windows xp pro.

Can I try this cd, when the format is finished or I must use the Dell cd?

DR M.

I suggest that you try the instructions from Dell:  Restoring Your Dell Computer to Original Factory Installation with Dell DataSafe Local Backup 2.0 | Dell.

After you complete formatting both computers, be sure to install all security updates, check that you have only the latest Java JRE and Adobe Flash installed and only install legal software.  Forget about uTorrent and other P2P programs as you have seen first hand what happens.

It is time to close this saga.  I wish you luck both in your studies and with the computers.  Should you have questions on the newly formatted computer(s), please start a new topic in the Computer Problems, Questions and Solutions! forum and we'll do our best to assist.
