We'll see you again, Dianne. :rose:  Just take your time.  You'll have a lot of updates to install.

Hi again.

The first instruction in the clean install says to reboot with the Windows XP CD. My computer came with 4 blue Dell CDs--
1. Dell Dimension ResourceCD with device drivers, diagnostics and utilities, computer documentation.
2. Applications already installed on your computers--antivirus software, support software, multimedia software and internet software
3. Drivers and utilities for reinstalling V.92/56K Telephoney Date/fax/voice modem software for MS window
4. Application for installing/reinstalling Roxio Easy CD creator 5.2 basic.

I also found 3 for the printer, but that's for later.

Are any of these the CD I need?

Hi, Dianne.

You should have a CD as shown on this page:  How to Reinstall Windows XP on a Dell.

Check the link for Step 3. Manual Installation here:  How To Restore or Reinstall Microsoft® Windows® on a Dell™ Computer | Dell

I have completely torn up the office and all file drawers where remnants of all past computers were located and tossed.
No Operating System CD.

Am I dead in the water?

No, You can get a replacement disc from Dell. They will require the model and serial number of the machine. I got one for a neighbour in the UK and it cost £20.
