Kids computer is so messed up I can't even download the file that I need to post

The kids computer is so messed up I can't even download the file the I need to get the log files. Every antivirus type program I try to download it starts and than aborts. What can I do short of reformat.

Hi, mymadelynn.  Welcome to LandzDown Forum.

We will do our best to assist you.  However, in order to do so, please follow all instructions provided in the sequence given.  Do not install/re-install any programs or run any fixes or scanners that you have not been instructed to use.  This may cause conflicts with the tools being used in the cleanup process.   

If you have questions regarding any of the instructions or problems running any tools, please let us know.

Can you access the Internet at all with that computer -- either Normal Mode or Safe Mode with Networking?  That will make it easier as we progress through the cleanup process.  Otherwise, you will need to download the files to your desktop and then transfer them via USB.    Then, transfer the resultant logs back to your computer to post here for analysis.

I can access the internet but when I try to download the hijack this files etc, it will not let me. It just gives an error  yes

I'm not sure what happened here. But I had started to different topics about 2 different computers and they seem to have been combined into one post. The log files posted here are for my own laptop. I still have not been able to download the programs to get the log files for the children computers. I download the utorrent files ages ago and have never even used them. I will try what was suggest for my laptop and let you know how it goes. I would really like some help with the childrens desktop though.

Can you tell me where to find the files to download to stick. What the file names might be? I can access the internet on the kids computer, but it will not allow me to download any kind of security type files. Will I also have this problem when I try to transfer with a stick.

Hi, mymadelynn. 

Please see the instructions at Log Posting Instructions.  As indicated previously, if you cannot download the files to the children's desktop, you will need to download them to your laptop and transfer them via USB or CD.
