Easter / JOSEPH:
thanks for sharing your views.... I see your point about doing your research on other forums first, maybe i should have looked around abit more first before asking but im confused by this:
Assuming what you mean by that, I dont think you have done your research either otherwise you would be aware that I am not a member of "yourselves" anymore!
I am also running AVG and PC Tools spyware doc!

Your Welcome.
My research as concerns anything Lava is long since been history, including their alternate forum they decided to erect from the ashes of shame.
So that is why i was not aware you apparently have departed from that camp also (Like many before) LoL
Congrats on your new views of PC Security Programs and the new freedoms you must now enjoy.

Concerning other forums, i can mention a couple that the good folks right here at
Landzdown also endorse and when have time also frequent at various times i'm certain of.............Wilder's & Spyware Warrior to name 2.
Malware is taken an even bolder approach (as i'm sure you know by now) by entering the rootkit arena whereas they manufacture programs that can drill deep into the windows kernel and modify system signals or hook the API all in an effort to "hide" their malicious intent and subvert the local security on systems. The before mentioned bot detector AAW SE fails miserably (at least for me), in that area as at best it might indicate an intrusion but is incapable of nothing more. Like before, alternative tools are then a required measure to safely remove the offending entries beit files, registry items, permissions modifications etc. Some programs are up to that task and some are lagging but either way new approaches have been introduced (HIPS etc.) to stand off and intercept those possibilities BEFORE they can enter.
That being said, all the best and glad to see you also are a proponant of A LAYERED APPROACH in protecting your own machinery.
