Not listed directly on that page, but elsewhere, are "immunization" programs that provide more passive protection, which is effective for not utilizing alot of resources. Examples of these would be SpywareBlaster and/or Spybot, and another to consider would be WinPatrol.
WinPatrol has many useful options (free too) monitors your system, alerts of new programs wanting to be added to start ups, blocks cookies & spyware, shows what's running on your system, start up delayer & can be used to shut down programs.
Depending on what you already have installed and your surfing habits (I am not asking about those habits btw
), look over this list and see what might replace your Adaware2007.
The error leading to another error w/ the new Adaware is frustrating, and frankly too time-consuming for me to futz around. Others have been able to get Adaware2007 to work, I suppose you can keep searching on the 1920 error...your mileage may vary.
Post what you already have for protection on that XPSP2 machine, or review that list and see if there are further questions. I am sure others will have comments as well.
