On the Dell support forum this heads-up is posted:

Please be advised that there are [at least 3] versions of the Lavasoft VX2 cleaner currently available for downloading from various websites.  This has resulted in great confusion, about WHICH one should be downloaded, HOW to go about "installing" it, and HOW to access/use it:

First and foremost, the following site is OBSOLETE, and should *NOT* be used:

BAD ====>  http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/plugins/vx2cleaner.shtml  <==== BAD

The above site downloads the file plxv2cleaner.exe which still installs the older version, 1.03 , of the VX2-cleaner.

Rather, you SHOULD use the following site:

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/addons/vx2cleaner.shtml

which downloads the file vx2cleaner_inst.exe which installs the newer version/build 2.0 of the VX2-cleaner.

I checked the link out today: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/plugins/vx2cleaner.shtml

The page is in need of a total facelift as it for instance refers to the previous version Ad-Aware 6 build 181.
Apart from that the link still refers to the old version of the VX2 cleaner http://download.lavasoft.de.edgesuite.net/public/plvx2cleaner.exe although our own extremely helpful Corrine rapidly did send Lavasoft the information needed to act against the problem one week ago.
