I have been using AVG 8, which is shortly coming to the end of its subscription period.

I am considering replacing it with ESET NOD32, which is supposed to be a far better product...

As it is not particularly cheap... :shock:, I would appreciate any feedback, before I commit myself.  Is anybody currently using it?

I can highly recommend ESET NOD32. Nod 32 don't slows down your pc and are protecting very well. Also it is a very quick scanner and is able to catch "vira in the wild". Compared with AVG I must say that Nod32 is much better and easy to set up. Nod32 have got many awards over at Virus Bulletin ( http://www.virusbtn.com/search?s=nod32 ). Nod32 is not cheap but the money is given out well.

Personally, I have paid subscriptions to NOD32 as an anti-virus on all of my boxes. It is updated several times a day, has a small footprint, and does a very good job. It costs me about 30 Grande Starbucks Pike Place regular black coffees for two years of protection, a very reasonable price in my view.

I have ESET Nod32 Smart Security on all my PC's and laptops I recommend you at least try it for the 30 trail .
I think you will love it as much as I do as far as it being expensive I did not think it was

£11.98 a year for me thats what I call a bargain  :dance:
even one PC over 3 years brakes down to £27.36 witch for peace of mind is well worth it

It looks like it will have to be NOD32..... :dance:

At the moment I am enjoying reading the installation guide/user manual from stelthzone's link......Thank you stelthzone..... I am one of those "sad" people that first reads the user manual even when I buy a toaster..... :smash:

Although on a few of my units i use Avira Free, i subscribe myself to NOD and really like it going on a full year now. It was actually the only AV that repaired my executables when hit by an infector virus i casually released on myself for forgetting to turn on my HIPS, Ugh! What a mess, but NOD saved my entire 200GB x 3 partitions from certain doom.

I been regularly testing it against samples of Conflicker a & b as well as other junk like TDDServ and the like and it's detections are really satisfactory. As Winchester73 mentioned, it updates very regularly. Might be worth a try for you.
