IBIS...is it still there?
« on: December 06, 2005, 09:24:17 PM »
It's been pretty uneventful with this computer since Normmork helped me clean it up in the topic called Can't Remove Win32:Adan & Win32 Trojan & Others.
However, for almost a month everyday that I scan w/ Counterspy and it finds IBIS toolbar/my web search.com.
Scanning w/ Spybot, AdAware, and Ewido, does not detect it.
Additionally, after I choose to remove it w/ Counterspy as I do everyday, I immediately ran another scan and it was detected again.
I looked at an updated HJT log and even tho I'm not sure what I'm looking at, I can't see IBIS or mywebsearch listed anywhere.
Is it still there?
How can I permanently remove it?      :uhm:

heart,
have you tried uninstalling the IBIS toolbar from Add/Remove Programs

1) Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel

2) Double click on Add/Remove Programs

3) Find "Toolbar" also if there "Win-Tools Easy Installer (By Web Search)" in the list of installed programs and click on Change/Remove to uninstall it.

then reboot your PC.
----
if you have already tried that then can you please download
HijackThis
After you have downloaded  it and Unzipped it, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".
When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log somewhere, and then can you please post you Logfile in the
HijackThis Logs  forum.
Call it some ting like "my HijachThis log" in the Topic Title
and then put "referred by GR@PH;<'S" as the Topic Description
Also Please can you include a link to this post for reference
