Spybot false positive with new update ??

just did today's update and it shows



ok,  don't worry about the last one as i did that!

BUT the top problem...just happened after update and when i go to where it says for info...well that is info from 2002
and i am totally current on all ms logs

i still have the instructions and can post a full log if needed

so all i need is a confirm that it;s another false positive

and does this happen all the time?
i've updated only 2 times and two false positive reports?

I'm involved in a thread about this at Net-Integration Mitch. Tashi is checking with TeamSpybot to see if it is a false positive or not. This brings back memories of versions 1.2 and 1.3 LOL.

thanks for the link roddy32 !!!

i registered there and took 6 months for them to fix the false positive of my site

then i get spammed with their return addy and think it because someone has hacked into their members list ( it has been a year since i posted there)
updated spybot two times and both times have positives


is this the way it works??????

i put it on for another layer of protection, but have spent more time working FP's and if that happens all the time no reason to have it, i don't want to post each time they have a new file ;-)

Normally they are pretty good Mitch. The last couple of times have been securty.sbi notifications. The Windows Security Center notifications from the previous detection rules (in MY particular case) weren't actually false positives, Spybot was just notifing me that there had been  registry changes for the security notifications from the Windows Security Center since it had been installed with SP2. The  confusion happened because of the wording of these, plus they weren't added until most of had already had SP2 installed for almost a year. Also in MY case, they were notifications of changes that I had made deliberately.

 Today's updates are also security.sbi detections that happen to flag the DSO exploit like the previous versions of Spybot did. Tashi notified team Spybot and we'll just have to watch that thread. I am NOT worried about it whatsoever in MY case.It's an old Microsoft security problem that was patched even before I bought this particular computer, which has been update to date with patches since the day I bought it.

 I read a thread or two about YOUR particular problem with your website and I don't blame you for being leary. There is another thing that I always try to keep in mind, these are free programs so we should give them some slack IMO.  :)
