Allow the default installation location to be used (C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy).
Updating Please run the integrated update feature to obtain the latest available updates. This is done by as follows:
-- Click on Updates.
-- Click Search for Updates and 'choose a download location'
-- Click 'Download Updates'.
Scanning with SpybotS&D-- Click Search & Destroy
-- Click "Check for problems"
When the scan is complete, select all objects detected that you wish removed. A shutdown/restart may be required. In which case, scan and clean again.
Advanced Mode for Logfile ReviewSwitching from default mode to Advanced mode is typically done by those comfortable with the advanced tools. Obtaining the advanced log report for support requires users be in this mode.
Launch SpyBot and on the toolbar menu select mode and switch to advanced mode:
-- Click Mode, scroll to and click Advanced
-- Cliick 'Yes' at the "warning" screen
On the left lower down select tools > view report.
Ensure all the options are selected
except Uncheck[ ] Do not report disabled or known legitimate Items,
Uncheck[ ] Include a list of services in report.
Uncheck[ ] Include uninstall list in report.
Select (near the top) View report.
-- Click mouse on text file, right click and scroll to 'Select All'.
-- Click 'Copy'.
