Some programs on my start menu don't work

I click on start menu programs like documents and pictures nothing happens.
Just started today while posting on craigslist.I used malware bits everything is ok there.
Ive never had this happen before.

Did you try a shutdown/restart?  If that didn't help, try a System Restore point from before the problem began today.  Do not use a temp file cleaner.  There are infections that will hide all the files on your computer from being seen. To make your files visible again, please download the following program to your desktop:

Unhide.exe

Once the program has been downloaded, double-click on the Unhide.exe icon on your desktop and allow the program to run. 

This program will remove the +H, or hidden, attribute from all the files on your hard drives.  It is important to note that if there are any files that were purposely hidden by you, you will need to hide them again after this tool is run.

Thanks Corrine,
 I used the unhide.exe and checked unhide or show hidden files and it did
get back my documents but that was all.So I restored my computer back
a couple weeks and it is working good now.
