Wireless Printer Help
« on: March 12, 2011, 05:06:22 PM »
I am hoping that someone here can help me. Last night I spent almost a Hour and a half on the phone with Hp customer service and I wasted that time. No closer to a solution.

My daughter has a laptop Dell, she is using a  HP Deskjet 3060 Wireless All in One  Printer.
Yesterday it was turned off and when she turned it back on it no longer recognized the Wireless Internet Connection.
This is when I called CS and spent time on the phone.. I don't think the lady had any clue and she just kept getting me to push the same button over and over...she did say something about it possible being a driver..but then she never said anything else but to tell me she would call back this morning..she didn't

I uninstalled the printer and re installed it..It will *find* our network but it still wont connect to it.  I was asked to print a Wireless Network Report and I did.
 It says
No Problems found. Congratulations on your successful setup of your wireless printer
and goes on to give the diagnostics and the configuration summary. All are ok.  But the printer still does
 not recognize the network.

Do I call HP back or do I try our router Belkin customer service or our cable internet provider?

She is running Windows 7 64 bit..

Any help will be greatly appreciated... I have to leave for a little while but I will check back later.
 Thanks again
  Denise

Hi, Denise.

Are you sure it is an HP Deskjet 3060 Wireless All in One Printer?  After checking the Windows 7 Compatible Hardware, Device Drivers & Downloads and not finding that printer, I tried a search.  However, I get No results found for "HP Deskjet 3060 Wireless All in One Printer".

If you meant an HP Deskjet 3050, that is supposed to be compatible with Windows 7 (Windows 7 Compatibility for HP LaserJet 3050 All-in-One Printer: HP. Drivers, Updates, Downloads) although it sounds as though there are problems.  From HP Deskjet 3050 All-in-One Printer series - J610 overview - HP Small & Medium Business products

"At first hand this is a good printer in regards to space, apperane&design and value for money.
however, when working in wirless the printer is sometimes lost.. this happens when sending pages while the printer is off or on long standby.
this gets the spooler stuck (win7) and requires a spooler restet. the only way to avoid it is to keep the printer off all time and switch it one just before printing.

I belive this can be fixed with a firmware/software/driver update to wake to printer on print... but it doesn't yet.
for a usb printer its a realy good one though"

As to problems with wireless connections, I suggest that you start with this tutorial:  Network connection problems in Windows.  Read the introduction and then go through the provided steps.

littlebit,
Just a thought but If it is anything like our network you will have to use your network's password

   Thanks Corrine..
Yes it is the 3050.. I was in a major hurry this afternoon and didn't notice the typo..I am sorry about that.

I will read the information you provided and see what I can figure out..

as for the password I have been putting it in..the computer is finding our network, but the printer isnt connecting to it..
I will keep you all updated..hopefully I can get it fixed..DD doesn't want a wired printer

Update..after another 50 minutes on the phone with HP.. we have found the problem!

The printer is *finding* an IP address that doesn't match the network..their solution was to call the Belkin (router) and tell them to change the channel to 11...(whatever that means)
So I do and I swear I got a chick that started last night...after 38 minutes I finally said.." I have an idea. Why don't you give me a reference number and I will call back tomorrow."

So after another hour and half I am at least a little closer than I was..Is there a light at the end of this tunnel??
