Make Vista Firewall better ?

Hallo I am Mr Dan.Mark from Denmark

My wife and I have Windows Vista Home Premium with the default firewall.
It there something we can do to make it more safe? (If that is needed?)

We are connected to a D-link 524 router, who have a build  in firewall.

My wife use A.V.G 8.0 Free  &  I use avast! 4.8 Home Edison.

Hi, Dan.Mark.  Welcome to LandzDown Forum.

Practicing "safe surfing" habits is one of the best security features.  :) 

With a router and the Windows Vista firewall, you are quite effectively blocking incoming.  To set up Windows Vista firewall as a two-way firewall and control outgoing as well, see Vista’s Windows Firewall with Advanced Security.

My personal preference for added security is WinPatrol.  A new version was just released.  See WinPatrol 2008 introduced in its 10th year.
