Not a Valid Win32 application
« on: April 01, 2006, 07:22:25 PM »
Been trying to get the lastest update for my ZA free version on my XPSP2 and every time I attempt to install it, I get this message:

C:\Program Files\ZoneLabs\zlsSetup.6.1.744.601.en.exe is not a valid Win32 application.

I got to this download update thru ZA/overview/check for updates, and selected "download update" at the ZA website.

It took close to 2 hrs to download this on my slow dial up.  I know my easiest option is to delete this file and re-download it...
BUT, was hoping someone has a solution before I have to do this again.

I just ran a Checkdisc (can't find the log from it either...always knew where my ScanDisc logs were on my Win98 ); did a defrag; all scanners show up clean; and ZA is running fine as far as I can tell.

I recommend that you download a fresh copy as to me it sounds as if you have a corrupt copy as it should not have taken 2 hours to download a minute or 2 at the most.

press Enter then have a Brandy then if the problem is still there have another Brandy
Q: does it work
A: It does seem to for a few hours at least.

Got my ZA update and it's purring like a kitten!

Thnx ppl.

FYI, I found my CheckDisc log...and ya might want to jot this down, cuz she wasn't easy to find.

Event Viewer -->Look in Application -->Listed as Information -->Under Winlogon, Event 1001

Go figure.
