Using FIND in FIREFOX
« on: March 22, 2006, 03:59:13 AM »
 :rose: hey guys!
this may be a stupid question, but i Must be doing something wrong...
- when i'm in FIREFOX, editing HTML code, the enviroment is similar to the screen i'm looking at right now:
In Fact, let's pretend this IS a page (CODE) i'm working on.
* :shock:
if i want to locate specific text, I do FIND (CONTROL-F).
anyway, i CAN'T get FIND to look IN THE TEXT I'M EDITING...
example: if, right now i did a FIND for "to", FF would "FIND" the TO in TOPIC at the very TOP of the screen -- but NOT inside the document i'm working on.
  :blink1: what i end up doing, is using the HIGHLIGHT function, to make that text YELLOW, and then i scan to find the  LITTLE YELLOW BLOBS
.
* What Gives?
i've tried clicking INSIDE the text, but i can't get FIND in FF to search there...
 *Frustrating!* :exorcize: ("FIND" works perfectly in all other browsers and documents)

thought you would want to use mozilla or netscape? they have "composer"

some mozilla things might work faster on their forum? think a lot of us just bash around with firefox?

 :rose: mitch,
i wasn't aware mozilla had a current "MOZILLA" browser, other than FIREFOX...
IS THERE one? do you recommend it?
  :shock: i'll do a search on "COMPOSER"...
it seemed like most people aren't that keen on NETSCAPE. i'd have thought it was good from a security standpoint, since it's not that popular anymore...

 :rose: THANKS, CORINNE  :thumbsup:
part of my confusion was because my STATS reports "MOZILLA" whenever i hit my pages with FIREFOX... (it also identifies the XP os as "WINDOWS NT"... funny... it's awstats, by the way)
* wooo. lots of options...
 :gwave:
in terms of security (and user satisfaction), you guys have any opinion of FIREFOX versus MOZILLA?
MOZILLA FAQ says netscape 7 was based on mozilla 1.5 (or maybe i have that backwards).
anyway, i HAVE netscape 7...
i'm also pretty used to my FIREFOX, so i wouldn't want to have to give that up, if i crashed when the two are active...
