Never Again: Time
« on: April 04, 2006, 12:53:45 AM »
Thought you'd enjoy this --

In the U.S. and other places where people show the date as Month/Day/Year (MM/DD/YY), on Wednesday of this week, at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00 AM, the time and date will be 01:02:03 04/05/06.

In Europe, U.S. military and where the date is generally shown as DD/MM/YY, in May, on Friday, at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00 AM the time and date will be 01:02:03 04/05/06.

In Japan, where the date is shown with the year first, (YY/MM/DD hh:mm:ss), there will be a countdown at two minutes, one second after 3 AM on the 4th of May:  06/05/04 03:02:01.

Sounds like as good an excuse for a party as any other.  :)

GR@PH;<'S, what a great idea!  Count me in!  I'll note it on my calendar.

I can bring a joke or two and I'm sure there are other LzD members that would have something to bring to the party.

ANY opportunity to bestow more accolades and celebration of this woman :flowers: count me in!

OK folks!  We need some RSVP's here and what you can bring via internet. :sos:

We'll have this party planned in no time at all!

Plus we have some time before 06/06/06...
but Corrine, I might not make it for the 6 seconds after 6 AM part...that's usually when I'm in the shower

years ago i made a digital alarm clock from scratch
it would desplay date then time  ( hour min/month date)

and i remember getting up to watch 11:11 on 11;11 and thought that was so cool hehe

hey, back then i was easly excited hehe
the clock cost about $50 to make but was the only one like it in the world hehe and kept me busy for a long time getting it to work right and a lot of logic for it to work the months correctly ( ok i gave up and had to cheat on leap year)

i had made a alarm clock circuit and was a bit too noisy and one day ( i lived in a apartment with noisy neighbors) i got up before it went off and went down to texas and out on the road for about 2 weeks, well that clock went off every morning at 6:16 for 10 min each day ;-)

Good one, Mitch!

Ripley, at 06:06:06 AM on 06/06/06 I will most likely be outside in the back yard with the doggies.  However, disregarding the 24 hour clock, at 06:06:06 PM on 06/06/06 I expect I will be where I am most evenings at that time -- right here.

But time is relative and this is making my head hurt:

  • 06:06:06 AM UTC = 07:06:06 AM BST = 08:06:06 AM CEST
  • 06:06:06 AM BST = 05:06:06 AM UTC = 01:06:06 AM EST
  • 06:06:06 AM EST = 10:06:06 AM UTC = 11:06:06 AM BST

So Corrine, just when will the dogs be taking you out? For those that want to know more try http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/

Now, where did I put the Aspirin?........  :D

ETR -- The doggies will be taking me outside at 06:06:06 AM GMT -5, after which I'm sending the curtains out for cleaning as I think they've collected a bit of dust which is clouding your brain.  :hysterical:

It seemed appropriate to post this in this topic.  Although this will happen again, it won't be in our lifetime.

If you use the date format MM/DD/YY:  At 6 minutes and 7 seconds after 5 o'clock on August 9, 2010, it will be 05:06:07 08/09/10.
If you use the date format DD/MM/YY:  At 6 minutes and 7 seconds after 5 o'clock on September 8, 2010, it will be 05:06:07 08/09/10

This won't happen again until 3010.
