Hi,

I hace Norton, Ad-aware, eWido, Spybot, and HijackThis installed in my computer, I ran every single one of them and i still have spam and that annoying "thesecuritypages.com" icon and pop-ups. Furthermore, Norton seems to detect trojans like every 5minutes!!!

Please HELP!!

Hi there, could you please have a go at these instructions?

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

I ask this because sometimes things will hide from HijackThis, renaming it helps to reveal them.

Yeah, that helped - showed alot more

Download haxfix.exe
and save it to your desktop.

Double click on haxfix.exe to install haxfix. (standard installation path is c:\program Files\haxfix)
Checkmark "Create a desktop icon"
Click "Next"
When the installation is completed, make sure that the checkmark "Launch HaxFix" is placed
Click "Finish"

A red "dos window" (dos box) will open with options:
1. Make logfile
2. Run auto fix
3. Run manual fix
E. Exit Haxfix

Select option 1. Make logfile by typing 1 and then pressing Enter
Haxfix will start scanning the computer. When it is finished a logfile will open: haxlog.txt.
Copy the contents of that logfile and paste it into this thread.

Also;

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Put a check next to Run VundoFix as a task.
You will receive a message saying vundofix will close and re-open in a minute or less. Click OK
When VundoFix re-opens, click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
Turn your computer back on.
Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log. (Making sure HijackThis is still renamed to NotHijackThis.exe)

I believe all my problems are solved, before running this last couple of steps, everythging worked fine but, i kept getting virus alerts form norton, it was like every 5 min. but now it seems like its gone. hopefully it is.

Now, once my computer is clean, what should I do to protect it? I ussually run eWido, and Ad-aware every week and now norton is installed in my computer, is there anything else I should have runnig periodically? and how about all the programs yo asked me to download, should I keep them all?
