Ok, so the problem is that the virus sometimes posts a live link into the chat window, beside Yasir's name in my list (and presumably his other friends' lists) a link appears which presumably has a bad result.

I don't know what AV is being used, but he did say he has tried one.

We'll wait for more info.  :D

I agree but before you post could you try at least two if not more of these  On-line scans, Removing any items that are found
Panda
TrendMicro
Bit Defender
Kaspersky
Symantec
McAfee
CyberTechHelp
PC Pitstop
Stinger
Also please use one or both of  these Trojan scanners
a2
or download and try
TrojanHunter (Note Trojan Scanner 30 day Trial)
Once you have done that can you clear out your cache folder again ie: Run
CCleaner
(Note in CCleaner: go to >options > advanced > Uncheck "Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours").
Now can you scan for Spy/Malware there are a number of programs that you can use for free Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is one of them that i recommend after running the program you can post the logfile.
then download  HijackThis  choose "Save" and navigate to the folder where it´s saved and doubleclick upon it.
This is a complete installer that installs Hijackthis onto your computer to C:\Program Files\HijackThis and makes an entry in the start menu & allows you to have a shortcut on desktop
then Doubleclick the HJT icon on your desktop, hit "Do a system scan and save logfile". Save the logfile and a txt-file will be produced.. Copy that one and paste it in the HijackThis Logs part of the forum.

A: It does seem to for a few hours at least.
