Thanks, Aaron!

If you have a problem downloading the latest updates, see How to manually download the latest definition updates for Microsoft Security Essentials.

Important:  Disable McAfee if it is running.

DANG!  Once again I disabled MBAM and Microsoft Security Essentials (Aaron, how do I tell if I have the correct one? And should I delete what I have?).
If you're being asked to scan online or download anything additional, it's the fake.  Also, our naming convention doesn't follow what they have (fake: Trojan.Horse.Win32.Stuff..., real: Trojan:Win32/Stuff..., although given time, they might fake that, too).

Well, I'm officially stuck now.  I can't even get my computer to come on.  It just keeps rebooting.

Hi, Kris.

Sorry for the delay in responding.  I'm dealing with a sick family member and it is taking a toll.  Do you have the installation CD so you can do a repair install?

Corrine,
I'm so sorry to hear about your family member being sick.  I understand completely.  I have pretty much given up at this point.  My friend's father is coming in for the holidays next week.  He's going to take a look at it.  I appreciate all your help, and I still may need it.  Let me see what he can do and then I'll give you some feedback.

I certainly hope things get better for you and the family.  I'll be sure to let you know what happens.

Thanks again for all your help.

Kris
