[Winpatrol 2012] Localization issue stops a module in Winpatrol

(1/2) > >>

I reported this issue months ago writing an email support, but I never received answer until now.

Dear Bill,

As you know, in WinPatrol you can set type column to disabled or enabled for executable files, through Startup Programs tab.

Well, I discovered that a simple localization string stops accidentally this feature, becoming impossible to change the type of any executable from Startup Programs tab.

I can reproduce it this line in [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\BillP Studios\WinPatrol]:

"LString302" = "Entfernen"  (this line comes from german reg file)

Deleting the value inside "" ,  the situation is normalized.

I think this is just an issue related to your program because it's reproducible with every language... I tried both german and italian reg files.

I use Windows 7 x64.

Best Regards.

Hi, Max.  Welcome to LandzDown Forum and Happy New Year.

To be clear, are you using the German and Italian language packs from http://www.winpatrol.com/download.html and then running the language scripts on the English version?

Exactly. Obviously importing only that line in registry is not sufficient to reproduce it. You must install german or italian language pack.
Once you solve it, can you also update the italian translation to the current version in attachment?  If you decide to approve it, the name of volunteer to report in download section is Eng2ita.net.

Corrine:
Hi, Max.  Thank you!  I will make sure Bill sees this topic.

Just to update you, I can still reproduce this localization issue on last release 24.5.2012.

But I'm very pleased with performance.  :)
