Let us know if connecting via the ethernet solves the problem.

Can you try this too?

Assuming that your wifi card is working now (https://www.landzdown.com/computer-problems-questions-and-solutions!/need-help-last-micro-soft-update-took-my-wifi-away!!/msg202857/#msg202857)

Unplug Ethernet and the Netgear adapter and connect to the internet via the computer's wifi card.

Can you download/update Malwarebytes?

OK, I thought you said that the wifi issue was resolved, that's why I suggested to try it.

These lines in the logs have to do with the connectivity issue:

Error: (10/21/2020 09:38:47 AM) (Source: Microsoft-Windows-WLAN-AutoConfig) (EventID: 10000) (User: NT AUTHORITY)
Description: WLAN Extensibility Module has failed to start.

Module Path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\Rtlihvs.dll
Error Code: 126

Perhaps a check regarding services, to see if something is missing would help. There are several suggestions online, but I'm not sure what is the best for the specific issue.

Let's give this a try:

1. Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter:  Select Start  > Settings  > Update & Security  > Troubleshoot > Additional Troubleshoters > Network Adapter.

As winchester73 advised in another thread:
If you don't see the "Apply this fix" option after running the troubleshooter it doesn't mean that it didn't work. The tool runs an automated script to fix common problems.  If something else is found, you'll see the "Apply this fix" option to apply the fix.

Restart the computer when you're done.
Even though you can connect to the Internet, if the above doesn't solve the problem, follow the steps above but this time select "Internet connections".

2.  If still unable to update those programs or activate codes, try the following:

Run Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM):
  • Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  • When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  • Enter the command below and press on Enter;
Code: [Select]
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  • Let the scan run until the end (100%). Depending on your system, it can take some time.
Next, run System File Checker (SFC):
  • Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  • When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  • Enter the command below and press on Enter and wait for it to finish (~15 minutes).
Code: [Select]
sfc /scannow

Let's check the WLAN AutoConfig service (Wlansvc):

Click Start, type Services, open that app
    Scroll down to WLAN AutoConfig.
Right-click WLAN AutoConfig, click Properties, and tell us what you see on the General tab in Startup type ... I'd like to see Automatic

After you run the other things Corrine suggested, you'll need to restart the computer for your 'automatic' to take effect.
