I installed it today and it seems to be playing with Malwarebytes nicely. So far.

well this for some reason will not install on my XP Pro machine
gets almost done and a pop-up pops and says something strange and then 'rolls' back the install.weird

I only have .NET 4, a requirement, installed on one computer so I can't use it.

As plodr has noted check if you have Net 4 or above. I have net 4.5 and so far I am impressed with the performance.

Thank you....downloaded hit the exe to run it aand webroot wiped off the face othe planet?? :)

ok disabled webroot for this download all good and see image
so if I am ok why will Kaspersky Free not install?

If memory serves, Kaspersky will object if you have another anti-virus installed.  It will automatically remove some incompatible software, but some have to be manually removed.

If so, have you uninstalled Webroot and run the trace removal tool?

I believe that's a network driver - do you have anything interesting software-wise monitoring network traffic?

A thread I saw at Kaspersky's forums also recommends using the remover, and doing that solved things. Not sure if that'll work here, but worth a try.

As an aside, I find my Surface 3 seems a little faster using this.
