MalwareBytes Anti-EXPLOIT (MBAE)

Popular software programs contain millions of lines of code. Bad guys exploit flaws (vulnerabilities) in the code to deliver malware. Except when they can't. Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit wraps four layers of security around popular browsers, preventing exploits from compromising vulnerable code. Not an antivirus, but compatible with most antivirus, Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit is a small, specialized shield designed to protect you against one of the most dangerous forms of malware attacks. And it's free.

Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit is now part of Malwarebytes 3.0 Premium (Anti-Malware, Anti-Exploit, Anti-Ransomware, Website Protection and Remediation technologies have now all been incorporated into a single product Malwarebytes).

Malwarebytes 3.0 will automatically remove the old versions of Anti-Malware, Anti-Exploit and Anti-Ransomware, and upgrade them all to Malwarebytes 3.0.

They will continue to offer MBAE as a free beta version, details here: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/184939-mbae-109-latest-standalone-beta/

From their announcement:

Quote
Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit standalone(MBAE) will from now on be offered as a perpetual beta product. The standalone MBAE will incorporate new protection techniques for fine-tuning purposes before they are integrated into the Malwarebytes 3.x product.

Users who wish to continue using Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit only instead of Malwarebytes 3.0 will be able to do so through the use of this perpetual Beta.

"Perpetual beta" is a term used to describe a product that is never fully finished ... it is released but remains in a permanent state of advanced open development and customer testing, adding new features (that may not be fully tested) as the software vendor deems necessary.  As such, users are essentially de facto testers.

If you choose to beta test, you accept the inherent risks associated with using pre-release software. Beta testers should use the software at their own risk.  This means you should back up your computer to ensure that you can restore it prior to the beta installation.  Perpetual beta software is NOT recommended for mission critical machines.

Due to the varying levels of skill and knowledge among our members, no further update information will be provided about the standalone version of Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit.  MBAE v1.09.1.1334 is the last 'release' version of the program.

If you wish to remain at that version, and not update to the beta releases, make sure you have gone into the Settings tab, and unticked  "Automatically upgrade to new versions".  You will get notifications of a 'new' version being available, and you can just click out of that screen without accepting the update.
