I have to wait to see if an update package fixes the problem.
I can't run the support tool because it requires .NET 4 and that isn't installed on 3 of the 4 Windows 7 computers. I had this problem before and discovered the support tool will not run. I don't bother posting at the malwarebytes forum for that reason. Step 1 will be to do something I'm unable to do.

I don't want to install NET 4 and all its related updates on 3 Windows 7 computers at this point in time.

Rather than try and open the console, I just not opted to check for updates. MBAM downloaded an update and told me it would have to close to install. It installed fine and I no longer get the 2 popups telling me that MBAM has stopped working.

BUT, my original problem remains on both computers. When I look at the Reports (clicking on a blank space in the scanner section), I am unable to remove any old reports. It asks if I want to remove them when I click the trashcan. I say yes and the report is still there.

So something is still broken if I can't remove old reports.

It appears it does remove some reports. I was able to remove 2 from July but not one from 11 July. That one won't budge.

I'll have to see what happens on the desktop. I tend to remove the oldest reports and save the 2 newest.

Yes, I'll have a look and see if anyone else notices and reports it.

I'm used to be blamed for programs misbehaving. I post on the Palemoon forums and Moonchild and his "non-helpful" helpers always start out by assuming any weird behavior is my fault.

I warned someone at MajorGeeks who couldn't open MBAM to be patient because that at least was fixed. He reported back that MBAM could now open and scan.

Eventually they will sort out the inability to remove old reports. At least I only scan once a week so not many reports. You scan once a day so they will quickly pile up.

I posted at the forum and said I noticed it on Saturday for the first time. I could remove one or two on my desktop computer yesterday (I think July 17th)  but now I'm stuck with July 24th and later.

When I click the eye (instead of the trashcan) to view details, the dates on that don't match the date on the scan date.  Weird.

BTW: "Delete all" made the 7/12/20 report go away.... It appears that it "wants" to keep the last month.  Since I was without power for two days, an exact count, on my machine, may be meaningless.

Mine don't either. A couple of mine are even from 2018. I suspect those dates are the timestamp of the detected item rather than the timestamp of the scan.

I found the report files. They can be found in C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\mbamservice\ScanResults

When I look in those folders, I I found almost 700 files going back to 9/22/2018. This is about the time I installed V3.0 IIRC. Each file takes up less than 2Kb of space so they are not space hogs. But still, I don't need 2 years of logs on my system.

I could not delete them because Malwarebytes had the folder locked. So I exited the program, purged the folder and restarted Malwarebytes. It then showed no scan reports. I ran a quick scan and 1 report shows and the program seems to be running fine.

So, if you want to purge your reports, it appears safe to do so manually.

That did the trick.
BTW: I didn't need to close the program, but had to grant "administrator" permissions.
