Font settings after Creators Update
« on: April 06, 2017, 05:07:17 PM »
OK, Win10 Creators Update reset my custom font settings, and I just hate having to squint at the desktop icon font, prefer bold font for everything with my old eyes, and now I can't find the setting for that again, was hard even the first time as well.

According to Advanced Sizing Of Text And Other Items Removed From Windows 10 Creators Update, what you want to do has been removed.  Perhaps this will help, but please back up the registry if you do go that route:  Change Menu Text Size in Windows 10 Creators Update - Winaero.

Thanks, used WinAero Tweaker to remedy that issue.

Now another problem, desktop icons will not align all the way to left of screen, they all shift one over to the right. Will try changing horizontal/vertical settings in WinAero Tweaker.

Changing horizontal spacing to 60 from prior 75 has fixed the desktop icon placement issue it looks like. All fonts also back to bold for icon, menu, titlebar, etc. I have NO idea what MS was thinking getting rid of advanced font options. Are they all Millennials working over there at MS now, LOL.

Glad that WinAero Tweaker solved the problem.  I take that your "old eyes" aren't such that you need a screen reader (various listed at Assistive Technology Partners | Microsoft).

Nah, cataract surgery fixed both eyes for the most part. Did distance in the right eye and mid-range for the left, worked out good all around, and without having to pay a lot for multi-focus. Just now getting a secondary cataract in the left eye that I have yet to take care of (read that it's a quick fix for the most part), that sometimes happens, I should have waited a bit longer with the initial left eye cataract.
