Just got new sd card for my drone and i always format them to remove the crap that comes on them
why lately on my laptop does a system folder stay and cant be removed?
thanks
-
What is the *exact* folder name?
Guessing this may be it: https://www.winhelponline.com/blog/what-is-system-volume-information-can-i-delete/

Aaron that is exactly what it is and thank you
takes up a lot of space on the sdcard wish i could remove it but looks i should leave it eh?
-
If the SD card is brand new and you have put nothing on it, it won't hurt a thing to remove it/format it. I always format a new SD card before use.
I have the Xiaomi FIMI X8 SE drone. Most of the time, the drone software wants to format a new card anyway.

Yo bro.... I just got the new MAVIC AIR 2 so friggin cool!! so do you have that file on your micro sd card?
-
Nice! No I do not. Most of them come with their own software be it encryption or backup software. Each brand comes with different files on it new. I always format.
This vid is from when I first got it. (5th flight) I'm in my backyard and I flew straight up about 100 feet. I hadn't figured out the video settings yet and it's kind of dark.

It didn't go away, or it was newly re-created? Did you re-format using your laptop? Windows recreates this file every time you plug in, unless you have disabled the system restore on that flash drive.
Why not use the option to format the SD card in the drone app itself, once you connect to the MA? It's in the DJI GO camera settings menu.
-
will do that and thank you!!
Yes formatted on my laptop
how do you stop the system restore on sdcard?

Newly re-created. By design. The article I linked to provides details on what it's for.
Can format the card in the drone, but once the card is back on the Windows box, System Volume Information will be created and indexing information, among other possible things, will be written in it. In theory, this folder shouldn't be taking up that much relative space.

Did you read the article???
If you try its suggestions, I won't be able to assist if something goes wrong. No warranty, etc. etc.

Read it and will leave well enough alone thanks
