Log in problems

This has happened 2 times now. Once about 6 weeks ago & now again this week. I have Windows 10 & use Firefox. When I go on to Amazon, Yahoo, ebay & some other sites I always have to log in even though I say save info. I don't know what the problem is but it is a pain. I have cleaned cache & cookies & tried to start over but that does not help.
Hope you can give me some help. I don't know much about the computer but everyone here has always been able to help me.

I hope everyone is well & having a great holiday.

Thanks
Mary

Some sites, especially banking, medical, insurance, and shopping sites, will log you out after a certain period of inactivity..... Others, that aren't involved with your money, or health, may let you stay logged in indefinitely.

If I forget to log out after a session, Amazon usually greets me by my username, but makes me enter my password to view or make transactions. If I remember to log out, it needs both username and password, before I can do anything serious.

If my IP address has changed, my bank also asks one of the "secret questions" I signed up with.

Check to make sure you've "allowed" Firefox to save cookies for the sites you want to remain logged into:
TOOLS - Options - Privacy & security - Cookies and Site Data - Manage exceptions

Digerati:
Yep, some cookies simply expire. This is often not something we can control.

But also it is not uncommon for program updates to our browsers, or even updates to our operating systems to wipe out the cookies that store our log-in credentials.

Also disk cleanup programs like Windows' own Disk Cleanup, Wise Disk Cleaner, Glary Utilities, CCleaner and others will purge our systems of clutter by deleting cookies and other temporary files

These are sites I go on almost every day so I don't think the cookies would just expire in just one day. I did check to make sure they were "allowed" & they were. Guess I just have to live with this pain.

I want to thank both of you for the information, even though it did not help me.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to everyone, stay safe & well.

Mary

Belaboring the obvious but ...
Another thing to check:

Go to  TOOLS - Options - Privacy & security

scroll down to "Cookies and Site Data"

Make sure "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" is NOT checked.
