Once you launch the downloaded driver setup file, follow the instructions on the screen prompts to complete the installation.  A reboot may be required.

You could also use Device Manager to update/repair the driver ... "Search automatically for updated driver software".  Personally I'd go the Logitech support site route.

Thanks, I think I'll go with the Logitech download.  Who knows what windows would find out there. 

Just to be sure....I don't need to uninstall the existing driver first? 

Why did I need to show all downloads?  um, because it was there?  ^_^

That’s not the driver version  ;)

1.2.169 is.

Did you right click on the device and select Properties? There will be a tab with driver info.

Yes, that is the information that is in the tab with the driver info in Properties

Thats what I get both when right clicking on the device from the settings > Devices and also when clicking on the mouse info in device manager

Dunno.  I was expecting you would see something like the attached.

Mouclass.sys is a Windows Operating System file.  I was looking for a driver version.

I was just curious, it's not that important to the issue at hand.  Have you downloaded and installed the driver yet?

The synaptics, indicates that winchester73 is on a laptop with a touchpad. I don't remember if we are talking desktop or laptop here.
On my desktop, I get this (keep in mind this is Windows 7 and an ancient wireless logitech mouse)

My netbook which has a MSmobile mouse attached has 2 entries: one for the ELAN touchpad and a 2nd entry for the mouse.

Ah. OK.   I was showing the info in the Driver Details screen.  Thanks for the screenshots...very helpful.

Here is what is on the Driver tab:

HID-compliant mouse

Driver Provider: Microsoft
Driver Date: 6/21/2006
Driver Version:  10.0.19041.1
Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows

I have not downloaded or installed anything yet.

All I can say is that my MS mobile mouse, 2nd screenshot, the middle click button does open a new tab.

I'm using driver v 6.1 and you are using v 10.0 and yet the date is the same sometime in 2006.

So far I only see 3rd party sites to download HID-compliant mouse drivers. I don't trust most 3rd party sites.

Do you have access to a computer that is not running Windows 10? If so, try the mouse on there and see if it works.
Also check the version of HID-compliant mouse driver it is using.

Oh, also tried Paddy's suggestion of a reset via the link posted.  No change. Did not find any reset button on the USB receiver, so not sure any reset was completed.

Are you planning on doing so?

There is a chance it is a corrupted driver, if so this may solve the problem.  Sometimes Windows 10 can self-heal balky things, but enough time has passed ... might try rebooting again if you’ve only done that once.

If this update doesn’t work, since a hard wired mouse works, I think the next step will be to trash the wireless mouse. You can get another M310 pretty cheap on eBay, or get a more current model instead. Or get used to the wired one that works.
