My suggestion:  create a System Restore point, download and install the update.  Restart the PC and see if the 2019 update resolves the issue.  Considering that the update is dated for August 2019, I am doubtful that it will solve your issue.  However, it is worth a try.

Note that the product has a 3-year limited warranty.  If you registered the purchase and it is less than three years old, it is worth looking in to.  If it is over three years old and the only mouse you've used during that period of time, it may just be worn out.  Warranty - Wireless Mouse M310

So,  made my restore point, and downloaded the first update at the link winchester provided. (not anything from the "show all" link)   Launched the exe and the message and got a green panel with black text that said the firm ware would update my keyboard and receiver, and then it said receiving device not found. No mention of the mouse in the launch screen.   Apparently that is not the right driver.

So I cancelled the install.  There was a continue button, but it looked grayed out. I didn't try clicking it.

File name is FirmwareUpdateTool_1.2.169_64.exe

Have you tried running the update tool as an Administrator?

Watched Paddy's video.  The mouse is the only wireless device I have on my computer.  There is only one wireless USB receiver plugged into the back of my tower.  All others are wired.

I ran the program again as administrator.   Still says it is not detecting any device. This time I did click the Continue button, but it was indeed grayed out and did nothing.

Is that compatible with my M310 Logitech wireless mouse?   And is it a safe download if so?

I also noticed there were downloads for Setpoint on the "see all" section of the downloads page.  Which seems to also have some control options for the mouse.  Wondering if that is something I want to try.

Ok, now I'm confused.   I have a Logitech wireless mouse M310.  How is that a microsoft mouse?

I see why I don't need setpoint though...I only have a 3 button mouse.

What you said makes me wonder if I ever installed any software with mine.  I might have just plugged it in and went from there.

Would that explain why the FirmwareUpdateTool couldn't find anything to update?

I updated to 20H2 in January of this year. 
No optional updates other than KB5001649  which is the servicing stack update I'm going let the April updates install.

I will try uninstalling the driver and rebooting.   And then, if no joy,  I will reluctantly give up and move on.

Wanted to make an update to this topic, because I have figured out how to fix my mouse.  My center scroll button click functions are back!

So after 3 pages of suggestions and a consensus that I should just replace the mouse, I've put in my order. Of course, I figure this out the day after I place my order.  sheesh.

Then,  my cursor started moving erratically so I did a search on why that might be happening.  So I blew the dust out of the optical opening and the mouse is now working just fine.  I also cleaned a very dirty mousepad and that may help as well, but I've tried functions and I can now open links with the center click,  open tabs from the tab drop downs and even discovered that I have a scroll left or right function by bending the scroll wheel left or right that I never knew I had before.

So the word is,  if your wireless mouse  is not working right, try cleaning it before you go through all the other machinations listed in this topic.
