My computer has a serious problem...
« on: January 29, 2016, 06:43:00 PM »
This is the third day I cannot use my computer in normal mode...

After logging in, it freezes. When I click on an icon, on start, on everywhere. Sometimes, it shut down itself, without any reason...

It is ok, when in Safe Mode.

There are times that it seems that it will work fine in normal mode, but after a few minutes it freezes again. Last time every time I right clicked on the screen, a new error said, among others: I/O error status of c0x000000e...

I made so many forced shut downs and restarts till now, that I didn't do for a year!

I updated the display drivers. Didn't help. I asked for help in another Forum Corrine recommended, but I feel that I will blow up! I need my computer and in Safe Mode I don't have volume, I can't use Live Mail, I can't use youtube...

I know that I must wait, but I feel better to post here too...

What do you thing? Is my computer dying or the problem looks familiar to you???   ??? :-[

Hopefully your computer isn't dying.  Sorry that you're waiting for a response.  The person helping you at Sysnative is a university student so I'm sure his time is limited.

It doesn't look like you've written down the exact error message.  If you have it, it may be helpful for him to have.

It's because that error occurred after I posted the requested log.
Now the computer is running in normal mode. But I can't open some programs. E.g. Skype.

Corrine, do you think that a clean install of Windows 10 would solve any problem? Even  a driver problem?

You might be better using the option to Reset your PC.  See Recovery Options at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/windows-10-recovery-options.  That said, you have been having problems with BSOD's and, it appears to me, drivers since the upgrade.

I've contacted Pranav.  Please don't do anything until I hear back from him.

Have you tried exiting ESET and then uninstalling it through the regular process rather than the removal tool that was posted (either in Normal Mode or Safe Mode)?

Actually it's not a tool, but instructions to uninstall ESET through the regular process: https://www.sysnative.com/forums/redirect-to/?redirect=http%3A%2F%2Fkb.eset.com%2Fesetkb%2Findex%3Fpage%3Dcontent%26id%3DSOLN2788
The computer needs to make a restart, due to a problem occurred, during the procedure, and I can't uninstall it.

BUT, your question gave me an idea. I remembered that I recently read about an antivirus uninstaller by ESET. I used it and ESET is gone.

I used again the Hard Diagnostics cd, but again, no hard drives found, and no controllers detected.

That means that my hard disc died? Sorry for asking you so many questions, but it's the first time I feel so desperate, about my computer!

If your hard drive died, you wouldn't have been able to uninstall ESET or access the computer.  Which tool are you using from http://www.carrona.org/hddiag.html?

 :D This is a relief!!!  ;D

I used the Seagate Tool, because in Device Manager the Disc Drive shows ST and some numbers, which refers to Seagate. I think...

Perhaps Satrow has suggestions for running the tool.  I'll point him here.

Yassas, Panos.

The above might only mean that the drivers included on the CD weren't capable of using the motherboard controller, so couldn't detect the HDD. That wasn't so uncommon some years ago, I'd fail with one backup software booted from CD, change to a different (brand) CD and all was hunky dory.

Have you used that CD/software before successfully?

Can you describe exactly what happens at boot up? What do you see, what's the last thing you see before any failure or error message?

Also, try following what happens with this breakdown of the W7 boot process, if you can pinpoint where any errors happen, it might help: http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/windows-7-startup.htm (long read, technical).

(I'll try to re-read the related topics on your issue later, rather busy right now ;). )

Γεια σας, Satrow!

Ευχαριστώ, for the input!

It seems that the HDD has a problem. Of course, I am not a specialist, and I'm not sure if I should proceed with some actions, but the tool finally ran, after some certain changes in the BIOS. It led to a test failure. Let's hope that it will be a recoverable issue. But, as the days are passing, I understand that I must be more than alert...

Thank you, Satrow!  I know you've been very busy and appreciate you taking time to reply.

Panos, don't do anything until you get a response to your post at Sysnative and please make a careful note of any errors/messages you get as they could be helpful in the diagnosis.
