Hi everyone! It's been a long time, since I've been around. So hi to those such as my darling Corrine :rose:, who's still here from back in the day when I was a regular here.
My Swedish boyfriend is in the process of upgrading his desktop from Windows 8.1 pro (originally Win7 Pro), to the new Windows 10. I'm having a bit of difficulty in helping him with this issue, since his OS was installed using the Swedish language. I've tried to get answers thru the Windows Support, but a bit more difficult again with the language barrier.
He followed the instructions after clicking the icon near the clock, which in Swedish says Skaffa Windows 10 (Get Windows 10). It was downloading. Everything seemed to go well. We decided to just let the pc run, thru the night since we were going out and would return today. Upon returning, it was still in the same status of downloading.
During this process both yesterday & today, if we click that same windows icon near the clock, it pulls up a window stating the download is in process. Then we click the link provided to check the download status it says to reboot the system for the updates to be activated. He would reboot, and after the reboot, again he gets the window to reboot over and over again.
We just found a link on the window that comes up to reboot, to check update history. It states that the download has failed. Upon clicking that, it shows the following...

Här är lösningar på några vanliga problem när du installerar uppdateringar. Du kan ibland automatiskt lösa vissa problem genom att köra felsökaren för Windows Update. (Run the troubleshooter for Windows Update)
We let it go thru its scan, it showed a few things saying that the problem is solved.
Rebooted and tried to start over, by clicking the icon to Get Windows 10 (near the clock) and nothing changed. It shows that the download is in process, but when clicking to check on the download status, we get the reboot thing over and over again, and the download history shows download failed but with yesterdays date. As if we didn't attempt it again.
HELP! Any ideas or suggestions as to what to do next?
