Yesterday, I clicked on Check for updates, and the version 5 was downloaded/installed.

Seems that it's the standard procedure for the migration to v. 5.

Thanks, that answers my question.
I guess it's not my turn yet.
I updated yesterday... Still version 4.
Checked for updates moments ago... No updates available.

Considering the other replies to my question, I'm not going to rush it.

Hi Plodr,

How to schedule a scan:
Open the app.
Click inside the Scanner box.
Click the Scan Scheduler tab.
Click Schedule a scan.
Choose to run a Threat Scan (recommended), Quick Scan, or Custom Scan.
Select the Start date and Frequency before configuring the advanced options.
Select Quarantine all threats.
Select Restart computer to remove threats. The Quarantine all threats setting needs to be enabled for this setting to be turned on.
Keep Use Smart Scan on. Smart Scans run when the machine is idle. To specify a start time, disable Smart Scan and manually configure the start time.
Keep Select Scan within archives on.
When you're finished, click Save.

Thanks. Someone sent me the info in a PM at another site.  Now I'm not as scared to have the other computers update to v 5.  I did check for updates on two of the remaining three computers on v 4 but version 5 has now come down; only updates to v 4. I'll wait because I don't want any headaches. The one computer updated with no problem when v 5 was downloaded behind my back.

Interesting. I checked for updates and now have 4.6.14. I wonder if that is a typo? It seems strange to jump from 13 to 16 in less than a month.

Pete!

Tried to update version four.
Ended up being "migrated", now I've got version 5.

One other computer was updated to v 5. It wouldn't install so I had to download Visual C++ 2015 and install that before v5 would install. I now have two on v 5 and two on v 4.

Still no clarification on the latest version for version 4.

Months later...Three of four computers updated to v5. I asked on the MBAM forum just how long v 4 would be supported and got no definitive answer. So yesterday I decided to download v 5 and install it myself. I hoped there would not be a problem with the install. It went smoothly.

One thing I'm going to request in v 5, show the version the computer is running without having to do 3 things: 1) Open up the MBAM program, 2) click on my icon at the top right and 3) Click on About Malwarebytes.

In v 4, as I hovered over the tray icon, the version showed. When I opened the Program, the version was also displayed on the titlebar. It seems we are losing something that was working well.
