 Hey, do you know RgGuard?
http://robotgenius.net/technology/rgguard.jsp
I have installed it, and set it to "bark like a bulldog". Tried the red link : scenicreflections.com, who was added to. But my Firefox could not show the page.
Hmmm... Wonder where I can get it to bark? So far I have not been "lucky" to find a place, where it was "Malware"!
Good of cause, but I like to test-drive it.
:boat3:

Wonder if there is a Top 50 list of "Stay Away Places", where a person can test such small security-link scanners.
:stupid:
But not so stupid, that I want to download anything if RgGuard say "Malware"!
Or McAfeeSiteadvisor say Red.

Have you looked at WinPatrol?  www.winpatrol.com/

Personally, I wouldn't suggest that you seek out some site that might infect your computer just to see if RgGuard works or not.

Hi winchester73

- Guess you are absolutely right! (It proberly is a bad idéa)
Still I would like to hear what the "Mallware" sound is.

I have also SpywareBlaster installed.

I have no experience with it.
If you have concerns about it working correctly, there is support available here on their contact page > support@robotgenius.net
Here are some user comments on it...a little dated, but not very encouraging > http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=182859

Here is another discussion about link scanners in general.  I would recommend you read the comments from the representative from Site Adviser (#10 & #11) to better understand what type of information it gives you and how it does it > http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=182948&highlight=RGguard

Not only does Site Adviser give a red rating for this site you listed above, but all sites that it links to, and all 500+ downloads as well...and yet you clicked on the link anyways to see if you could hear a sound in another program??  :smash:

I had mentioned previously in another thread about looking for a comment left by the site owner as one way to qualify/determine whether or not Site Adviser's ratings were accurate, or might require more investigation.
Did you read what the site owner said/wrote about this site, if in fact that was the site owner?  They basically indicated yes, they serve crapware, but you are given a choice to opt out.  Do you you have the computer knowledge to decide if that's true or not?

I agree  :)

If you do not have enough knowledge, about how these programs work on your computer yet, and where to manually start the sounds on your computer so that you can "hear" them, I would strongly recommend you not attempt to "test drive" your security software by going to websites to trigger them.  No ONE security program is perfect.

A safer way would be to read other users/security experts comments about them by searching at security forums, or even looking at reviews, especially comparative reviews, if you are concerned about the effectiveness.

Take care with your surfing Dan.Mark  :)

Hey Ripley

Thanks for another fine reply. I will look on your links.

It is correct: It is unwise of me to "experiment" with such sites.
Your smiley with the hammer is well placed  (I am sort of a block-head)
But... I do take you and other forum members warning serious, hornestly

Have a nice Saturday
