tracking is tracking it doesn't matter who you have an agreement with.

Guess I'll have to look for another search engine.

You and me both.  I've used DDG for a LONGGGGG time, to avoid Google & Bing trackers.  This is hugely disappointing about DDG, as it was trusted.  If you find another search engine, I'd like to know what you settled on, and why.  But it's looking like I'll have to use VPNs and Tor for EVERYTHING now.  SMH...

I've been using the Brave browser search engine  (and also the Brave browser).  I like that ad and tracking blocking is built in.   The search has been adequate and I'm getting search results that don't come up in the censored search engines.

I use Brave browser on android but the search engine used in Windows with Firefox drove me crazy by always loading 3 screens before it was ready to be used. I finally had to replace it with DDG.

When I feel like fooling myself into thinking I'm doing a private, untracked search, I go to search.brave.com in whatever browser I'm using.  I don't know if it does any good using it that way...

Especially for those using Brave, Privacy-focused Brave Search grew by 5,000% in a year:

QuoteBrave Search, the browser developer's privacy-centric Internet search engine, is celebrating its first anniversary after surpassing 2.5 billion queries and seeing almost 5,000% growth in a year.

To celebrate this success, Brave Software announced that Brave Search is finally exiting its beta phase and will become the default search engine for all users of the Brave browser.

Additionally, a new search results curation feature called "Goggles" will be released in beta and made available to those who wish to test it.
