As a result of the recent forum software update, LzD members may want to make some profile adjustments.

  • Time: The software update resulted in the time zone defaulting to Greenwich.  To change it to your time zone, click on your username at the forum and select "Look and Layout" to select the correct time zone from the drop-down menu.
  • New Posts: Consider expanding the "LandzDown Forum - Info Center" at the bottom of the forum home page.  From there, you'll see a list of the latest posts.
  • Notifications: Due to the software update, member notifications settings were lost.  Merely click on your name at the top of the forum and select "Notifications".  From there you can set your preferences.
  • Emojis: If you frequently use emojis in your posts, those included in the forum update were limited to the four shown above the reply space.  With Windows 10 and Windows 11, it is easy to add an emoji to a post with the shortcut.  Just press the Windows key and the period button.
  • Theme: While some members like the theme in the update, others would prefer the popular dark mode.  Adding a dark mode them is under consideration and this topic will be updated if/when one is available.

Note: This topic will be updated as needed.  (Yes, as a pinned topic, the post subject is in a bold font.  This is another change resulting from the software update.)

When looking around about another issue, I discovered that it was possible to turn on the like feature for members to use when they like what another person posted.  Although it isn't fancy, it is a feature that wasn't available before.

The like option is shown below the post and above the member's signature in the forum of a 👍 with the word "Like" next to it.  If you'd like to know when someone has liked one of your posts, you can enable an Alert by following the steps below:

1.  At the top of the forum is your member name followed by "My Messages" and "Alerts.
2.  Click Alerts and select "Settings" in the box that opens.
3.  Under the "Posts" section, check the box to receive an Alert "When one of my posts is liked".

Note: You can also select other options there as well, such as, "Follow topics I create and reply to" which would be very helpful if you have requested assistance.

Although I did not discover a way to modify the format, the forum name now appears in the upper right corner of LzD.

There is now a dark mode theme available for members who prefer dark mode over light mode.  To use the dark mode theme, do the following:

1. Click on your name in the left-hand corner at the top of the forum.
2. Click on "Look and Layout".
3. Under "Current Theme" select Change.
4. Scroll down to "Lunarfall" and click "USE THIS THEME".

It looks a bit different to change it back to the forum default:

1. Click on your name in the left-hand corner at the top of the forum.
2. Move the mouse to the person image, which will show as "Profile Details" and click on it.
3. Under the "Menu" heading, select Forum Profile > Look and Layout.
4. Under "Current Theme" click Change.
5. Scroll down to "Lunarfall" and click "USE THIS THEME".

Follow the above instructions to reverse your selection.
