QuoteToday we are releasing the first preview build of Windows 10, version 22H2. Windows 10 Build 19045.1865 (KB5015878) is now available in the Release Preview Channel for Windows Insider Program for Business (https://insider.windows.com/for-business/) participants to validate on devices in their organizations.

This build is also available to any Windows Insider in the Release Preview Channel via the "seeker" experience in Windows Update. This means Insiders currently in the Release Preview Channel can go to Settings > Windows Update and choose to download and install Windows 10, version 22H2. Once an Insider updates their PC to Windows 10, version 22H2, they will continue to automatically receive new servicing updates through Windows Update (the typical monthly update process).

• This update affects applications that use the Windows UI Library in the Windows App SDK (WinUI 3). It makes printing for them possible on Windows 10 devices.
• This update addresses an issue that affects the SharedPC account manager. It cannot delete multiple accounts during cleanup.
• This update addresses an issue that might affect lsass.exe. It might stop responding. This occurs when it sends a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) query to a domain controller that has a very large LDAP filter.

• New! This update adds the ability to sync language and region settings when you change your Microsoft account display language or regional format. Windows will save those settings to your account if you have turned on Language preferences sync in your Windows backup settings.

• New! This update brings back the search box experience on the Windows 10 taskbar. If you have a top, bottom, regular, or small icons taskbar, you will see the search box appear. • The update addresses an issue that sends unexpected password expiration notices to users. This occurs when you set up an account to use "Smart Card is Required for Interactive Logon" and set "Enable rolling of expiring NTLM secrets".
• This update addresses an issue that affects the Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS) process. It might stop responding. Because of this, the machine restarts. The error is 0xc0000005 (STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION).
• This update addresses an issue that affects Microsoft Edge IE mode. Pop-up windows open in the background instead of in the foreground.
• This update addresses an issue that affects Edge IE mode. The Tab Window Manager stops responding.

After installing today's November 2023 non-security preview update (KB5032278), Windows Insiders in Release Preview with eligible devices3 running Windows 10, version 22H2 who are interested in experiencing Copilot in Windows as soon as possible when we begin rolling it out in the near future, can choose to do so by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and turning on "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2249590)" and Check for updates 4,5. This will be a phased launch via controlled feature rollout (CFR) over the coming months.

Windows 10 Pro edition devices on version 22H2 that are managed by organizations will not be included in the initial rollout of Copilot in Windows. Windows 10 Enterprise and Education edition devices on version 22H2 will also not be included in the initial rollout of Copilot in Windows.

When we begin rolling Copilot in Windows (in preview) for devices running Windows 10, version 22H2 Home and Pro editions, we will publish a follow-up blog post to this one.

Today's November 2023 non-security preview update includes the following improvements:

• New!If you use Home or Pro consumer devices or non-managed business devices, you can get some of the newest experiences as soon as they are ready. To do so, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. Set the Get the latest updates as soon as they are available toggle to on. With this update, we are beginning to roll out Copilot in Windows (in preview)1 for devices running Windows 10, version 22H2 Home and Pro editions2. The Copilot in Windows (https://blogs.microsoft.com/blog/2023/09/21/announcing-microsoft-copilot-your-everyday-ai-companion/) button will appear on the right side of the taskbar in Windows 10. When you select it, Copilot in Windows appears at the right on your screen. It will not overlap with desktop content or block open app windows.

Windows 10 Pro edition devices on version 22H2 that are managed by organizations will not be included in this initial rollout of Copilot in Windows. Windows 10 Enterprise and Education edition devices on version 22H2 will also not be included in this initial rollout of Copilot in Windows.
