QuoteToday we are releasing the first preview build of Windows 10, version 22H2. Windows 10 Build 19045.1865 (KB5015878) is now available in the Release Preview Channel for Windows Insider Program for Business participants to validate on devices in their organizations.

This build is also available to any Windows Insider in the Release Preview Channel via the "seeker" experience in Windows Update. This means Insiders currently in the Release Preview Channel can go to Settings > Windows Update and choose to download and install Windows 10, version 22H2. Once an Insider updates their PC to Windows 10, version 22H2, they will continue to automatically receive new servicing updates through Windows Update (the typical monthly update process).

Releasing Windows 10 Build 19045.2787 to Release Preview Channel

This update includes the following improvements:

• This update affects the ms-appinstaller URI. It now works with the DesktopAppInstaller policy.
  
• The update addresses an issue that affects the Remote Procedure Call Service (rpcss.exe). The issue might cause a race condition between the Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) and the Microsoft Remote Procedure Call (RPC) endpoint mapper.
  
• This update addresses an issue that affects the Microsoft HTML Application Host (HTA). This issue blocks code execution that uses Microsoft HTA. This occurs when you turn on Windows Defender Application Control (WDAC) User Mode Code Integrity (UMCI) enforced mode.

• This update addresses an issue that affects the SharedPC account manager. It cannot delete multiple accounts during cleanup.

This update includes the following improvements:

• New! This update adds the ability to sync language and region settings when you change your Microsoft account display language or regional format. Windows will save those settings to your account if you have turned on Language preferences sync in your Windows backup settings.
  
• New! This update changes firewall settings. You can now configure application group rules.
  
• New! This update brings back the search box experience on the Windows 10 taskbar. If you have a top, bottom, regular, or small icons taskbar, you will see the search box appear. • This update affects the Islamic Republic of Iran. The update supports the government's daylight saving time change order from 2022.
• The update addresses an issue that sends unexpected password expiration notices to users. This occurs when you set up an account to use "Smart Card is Required for Interactive Logon" and set "Enable rolling of expiring NTLM secrets".
• This update addresses an issue that affects the Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS) process. It might stop responding. Because of this, the machine restarts. The error is 0xc0000005 (STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION).
• This update addresses an issue that affects Microsoft Edge IE mode. Pop-up windows open in the background instead of in the foreground.
• This update addresses an issue that affects Edge IE mode. The Tab Window Manager stops responding.

Releasing Windows 10 Build 19045.3754 to Release Preview Channel

This Build is for Insiders who are on Windows 10, version 22H2.

After installing today's November 2023 non-security preview update (KB5032278), Windows Insiders in Release Preview with eligible devices3 running Windows 10, version 22H2 who are interested in experiencing Copilot in Windows as soon as possible when we begin rolling it out in the near future, can choose to do so by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and turning on "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available" and Check for updates 4,5. This will be a phased launch via controlled feature rollout (CFR) over the coming months.

Windows 10 Pro edition devices on version 22H2 that are managed by organizations will not be included in the initial rollout of Copilot in Windows. Windows 10 Enterprise and Education edition devices on version 22H2 will also not be included in the initial rollout of Copilot in Windows.

When we begin rolling Copilot in Windows (in preview) for devices running Windows 10, version 22H2 Home and Pro editions, we will publish a follow-up blog post to this one.

Today's November 2023 non-security preview update includes the following improvements:

• New!If you use Home or Pro consumer devices or non-managed business devices, you can get some of the newest experiences as soon as they are ready. To do so, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. Set the Get the latest updates as soon as they are available toggle to on. Note that this toggle is not turned on for devices that your IT department manages unless IT configures a new policy.
  
• New! This update adds new functionality that affects app defaults. To learn more, see A principled approach to app pinning and app defaults in Windows.
  
• New! The news & interests feature on your device is now larger! This will help you use the feature more effectively and show the content you care about most on a larger scale.
  
• New! This update adds Windows Update opt-in notifications to the screen when you sign in.

Releasing Windows 10 Build 19045.3757 to Release Preview Channel

With this update, we are beginning to roll out Copilot in Windows (in preview)1 for devices running Windows 10, version 22H2 Home and Pro editions2. Windows Insiders in Release Preview with eligible devices3 running Windows 10, version 22H2 who are interested in experiencing Copilot in Windows as soon as possible can choose to do so by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and turning on "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available" and Check for updates4,5. Windows Insiders on eligible devices in the Release Preview Channel who already did this with last week's update should see Copilot in Windows shortly. As a reminder, this will be a phased launch via controlled feature rollout (CFR) over the coming months.

The Copilot in Windows button will appear on the right side of the taskbar in Windows 10. When you select it, Copilot in Windows appears at the right on your screen. It will not overlap with desktop content or block open app windows.

Windows 10 Pro edition devices on version 22H2 that are managed by organizations will not be included in this initial rollout of Copilot in Windows. Windows 10 Enterprise and Education edition devices on version 22H2 will also not be included in this initial rollout of Copilot in Windows. Releasing Windows 10 Build 19045.3992 to Release Preview Channel

This update includes the following features and improvements:

• New! This update adds a feature for eye control system settings. You can back up these settings from the former device while you set up a new device. Then those settings will install automatically on the new device so you can use them when you reach the desktop.
  
• New! The coming weeks will bring a richer weather experience to your lock screen. This includes dynamic, interactive weather updates. So, as you hover over the weather on your lock screen, you will see more information. When you tap or click on the weather card and sign in, Microsoft Edge opens with the full forecast in MSN weather. If you already use Weather in Settings > Personalization > lock screen > Lock screen status, there is nothing for you to do. Also, this new experience will be on by default if Lock screen status is set to "None." Like today, lock screen status will be available when you lock your screen no matter which personalization option you select (Windows spotlight, Picture, or Slideshow).
  
• This update addresses an issue that affects an Internet Explorer shortcut. After you use a policy to remove it, the shortcut reappears.
• This update addresses an issue that affects Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI). A caching issue occurs. The issue causes CurrentTimeZone to change to the wrong value.
  
• This update addresses an issue that affects XPath queries on FileHash and other binary fields. It stops them from matching values in event records.
• This update addresses a known issue that affects BitLocker data-only encryption. A mobile device management (MDM) service, such as Microsoft Intune, might not get the right data.
• This update addresses an issue that affects some single-function printers. They might install as a scanner.
• This update addresses an issue that affects the Code Integrity Module (ci.dll). This issue stops your device from responding.
  
• This update includes quarterly changes to the Windows Kernel Vulnerable Driver Blocklist file, DriverSiPolicy.p7b. It adds to the list of drivers that are at risk for Bring Your Own Vulnerable Driver (BYOVD) attacks.
  
• This update affects Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) Secure Boot systems. It adds a renewed signing certificate to the Secure Boot DB variable. You can now opt for this change.
• This update addresses an issue that stops you from reconnecting to an existing Remote Desktop session. Instead, you get a new one.
• This update addresses an issue that occurs when you change the keyboard language. The change fails to apply to RemoteApps in some scenarios.
• This update addresses an issue that affects Windows Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS) Post Authentication Actions (PAA). The actions occur at restart instead of at the end of the grace period.
• This update addresses an issue that affects Active Directory. Bind requests to IPv6 addresses fail. This occurs when the requestor is not joined to a domain.
• This update addresses an issue that affects the LocalUsersAndGroups CSP. It stops processing group memberships if it cannot find a group.

• New! This update affects Windows Hello for Business. IT admins can now use mobile device management (MDM) to turn off the prompt that appears when users sign in to an Entra-joined machine. To do this, they can turn on the "DisablePostLogonProvisioning" policy setting. After a user signs in, provisioning is off for Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices.
  
• When you sign in, you might see a message that invites you to upgrade to Windows 11. This message only appears if your device is eligible for an upgrade. Note this feature might not be available to all users because it will roll out gradually.
