There was a discussion in another topic recently about pre-checked options for bundled software included with many program installers.  Although Unchecky is a relatively new program with the first public version released in November, 2013, the object of the software is to keep potentially unwanted programs from being installed by automatically unchecking unrelated offers.  Unchecky also provides a warning when you try to accept a potentially unwanted offer.  The program automatically updates when a new version is available.

This article from January by How-to Geek provides additional information about Unchecky:  How to Avoid Junkware Offers with Unchecky

Note:  Even with Unchecky, a "custom" install of software is still recommended.  It is also advised to continue watching each screen while installing software for anything that Unchecky may have missed.

I hope they get the bugs sorted out. This sounds like a promising program, but unfortunately, it still requires a careful watch to ensure nothing remains checked, or suddenly becomes checked when the default is unchecked. Because it still requires users select the custom install, I wonder about its value. And I fear it may cause a false sense of security.

Still, I think it is worth keeping an eye on.
