I had a lot of information stored in folders on my Yahoo email account. I tried to check to see when an appointment I had was scheduled and found that folder empty. I checked other folders and found the same. some are intact. I was thinking of doing a system restore. Is that a good idea and how do I go about it on my HP laptop with Windows11?

If you use the "New Outlook", you can add your Yahoo email account to it as well as any other active email addresses.

Then, when you open the Yahoo account from Outlook, there is an option to recover items that had been deleted over the past 30 days.

Edit notes:  If you have Microsoft Office, try opening Outlook from there and if your Yahoo email hasn't been added, try adding it there.  Also, if you can't find what you're looking for with the New Outlook and decide to try a System Restore, be sure to create a new restore point first.

I can't get on New Outlook. It's running me around in circles. When I enter my log in info they send a code, then tell me that it's not the right log in info. When I try  to create a new account I'm told that there's already an account  with that log in info and around and around we go. I've tried to get on Microsoft before and always run into the same road blocks.
Is there another way to do a safe system restore? I had a lot of important info in those folders that I would really like to retrieve.

Hi, mare_wbpa.

System restore in an earlier point won't bring back deleted files. If you deleted those files, then they are deleted.

How do you check your email? Via browser or via the Outlook desktop application?

Somehow I got New Outlook to download. I found what seems to be a good number of the emails I was looking for. there must have been a glitch in yahoo mail. I can understand deleting saved emails in one folder, but not most of the folders all at once. I have to find a better place to save the emails I want to save. Thanks again for taking the time to help. I appreciate it.

Yahoo has an Archive folder on the New Outlook.  You could create subfolders there for important files you want to keep.
