Hello, Johnson55.

Let's see what is happening with your computer.

Download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop. --> IMPORTANT

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

If your antivirus software detects the tool as malicious, it's safe to allow FRST to run. It is a false-positive detection.

If English is not your primary language, right click on FRST.exe/FRST64.exe and rename to FRSTEnglish.exe/FRST64English.exe

  • Double-click the FRST icon to run the tool. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button and wait for a while.
  • The scanner will produced two logs on your Desktop: FRST.txt and Addition.txt.
  • Please attach the content of these two logs in your next reply.

I couldn't click on to your forum with FRST so I copied it and put into
my browser and I got to Bleeping. I may have missed some options
computer is really strange.
I have the FRST on my desktop. Windows won't run it (protection)
So I didn't get the 2 logs.I don't know if I got an option to bypass
the protection of windows? What can I do to get the 2 logs?
Maybe there is something else I could try.

Try this:

Right-click on FRST and click Properties. Click the checkbox next to Unblock so that a checkmark appears. Click Apply.

I don't see an option to block in frst64

DR M

Try this:
Click More info button and then Run anyway.

johnson55,

To clarify and amplify what Corrine and DR M are saying:

1.  Make sure that the FRST file that you have on your desktop is either FRST.exe or FRST64.exe;
2.  If it is one of these two then double-click on it to run it;
3.  If you get a dark blue "Windows protected your PC" screen indicating that this file could be a problem, then as DR M said, first click the "More info" link in the upper left area of the dark blue screen, and then when that screen slightly changes click the Run anyway button in the bottom right area.
4.  At this point FRST should run.

From there follow DR M's instructions as he will be your primary care physician!

Hello.

Download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop again. After that, run the tool, as instructed above.
