Is yahoo a pay only service now?

Yesterday and today Yahoo email would not let me sign in unless I pay for a login service.
Is there any way around this?

I was able to open a new Yahoo email using my same name but with a different user name. This does not make any sense to me.

I have an old Yahoo account that is still active, although not my primary email and there is no indication of it changing to a pay account.

I have tried both of those links earler today with no luck. Wnen i signed up with Yahoo many years ago i used a Gmail as my back up.

i never used that Gmail account again so it no longer works so i can't receive a access code from Gmail.

When i atempt to reserect the Gmail account it wants a access code from Yahoo. LOL

After fighting this all day i read that i need to wait two days and try to login again.

I am not a Yahoo Mail user but from what I have been able to find it sounds like you have somehow mistakenly tried to either sign into or set up a Yahoo Mail Plus account WHICH IS A PAID SERVICE. However the free service still exists as usual. But beyond that I could not find any way to resolve the issue beyond the thoughts included in the links provided by Corrine.

Are there any email services that have free email support?

I would be nice to have a stable email because it will take me days to change addresses on all of my websites, doctors etc.

I have an ancient Yahoo account, that I use for things that I don't trust, or that might generate spam.
I check it once a day, or if I'm expecting something.

I never paid them a cent, but the spam keeps coming in reliably.

What are you asking here? Are you looking for a free email service? If so, as Corrine said "outlook.com" is a decent choice. (I have one myself.) However there are many other free choices; here is a good list.

On the other hand, are you asking for a free email service that provides free customer service/support, such as the ability to telephone someone and ask for help? If this is what you are looking for then your choices are probably very limited IF they exist at all. The very essence of providing free email is to keep the costs low, and having telephone customer service would be very expensive. Usually free email providers provide free support web pages and "faq's" on the internet, but that is about all.

To be clear about your present situation there is nothing wrong with the Yahoo Mail email service, objectively speaking. The problem for you seems to be that you have somehow tried to log into or set up a Yahoo Mail Plus account and therefore you have confused the Yahoo service overall. There is a difference between Yahoo Mail - the free email service, and Yahoo Mail Plus - the paid service, and my guess is that by using your free account credentials (name, password, etc) on the paid system you have confused the Yahoo system's computers. The problem is how to fix that possible confusion, and it is not clear what the answer to that might be.

Having said that the following would be my suggestions:

You have written that Yahoo has told you to wait two days before trying to log in again. I would follow those instructions.
When that two day period has passed, first clear your cookies and cache from your web browser before doing anything else.
Second, go to your usual log in page for Yahoo Mail. Make sure that it is a log in page for Yahoo Mail and not Yahoo Mail Plus!

(3a. As a non-Yahoo user I am not sure what the distinction is. However when I try to get distinguishing links the following seems to be for Yahoo Mail " https://login.yahoo.com/?.src=ym&pspid=159600001&activity=mail-direct&.lang=en-US&.intl=us&.done=https%3A%2F%2Fmail.yahoo.com%2Fd ").

(3b. On the other hand Yahoo Mail Plus comes up as " https://login.yahoo.com/?.done=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.yahoo.com%2Fplus%2Fmail&.lang=en-US&src=yp-mail ".

Notice the "plus" in the url address---do not use this address or any other address that might have "plus" in it.)

So using the free Yahoo Mail log in page, log into your Yahoo email account using your original user name and password, not the "different user name" that you just set up on 8-23-2025.

I cannot guarantee that this will work, but it is worth a try. Let us know how this works out.

Thanks V_V for all of the work. I will check out each email and hope to find one close to what Yahoo looks like.

From what i have read Yaqhoo asked me for my proof of ID because i cleared my Browsing Data twice in 24 hours and made the mistake of attempting to logg intp Yahoo each time. So if i use Yahoo again i now know to only logg in once in 24 hours so they don't think haching is happening.
