Red = unstable/test build, it will alert you of an updated unstable build.

Corrine will alert us of any updated Release builds, she often knows before I do ;)

DR M

Thank you.

Till now, all is well.

@Dr M, your mention of gmail got me thinking. Normally I use the basic HTML version of gmail. I switch to the standard view when I want to move things from my inbox to folders; I can't do that in the basic version. gmail will bring my browser to a crawl (very slow and sometimes freezes). I end up closing the browser completely and then going to gmail and selecting load mail as basic HTML. It states it is for slow connections and I guess to most people 30 Mbps is slow but for us, it is fine. Two senior citizens reading and answering emails and watching a few videos.

Dr M, take note does the browser slow down after you check gmail? Do this as a test, do everything but go to the gmail site. Does the browser stay fast? If so, it could be the full featured gmail causing your issue like it does on my computer.

@Corrine, 7 is not a tab hoarder! When I go to a forum and look at a section, I can have 20 tabs open for all the threads in that section in addition to the tabs for the other sections of a board. As I read and answer or not answer, I close a tab. Keeping 7 open all the time is not too many.

@plodr, I didn't mention Gmail. Satrow did. I don't use the browser application, but Thunderbird. I already tried to use PM without the email client open and it didn't make difference. I will leave this test version for now, and return with comments ... when I return.  :)

From the main page > Download > Pale Moon > [Dev]Unstable versions: http://www.palemoon.org/unstable/ Not usually recommended but worth a try if you want to help out or need to checkout whether a possible fix/mod is relevant to an issue you have.

I returned to the normal updated Pale Moon and it's worse than ever...

I'm afraid I can't continue with it...

I guess I have to open another thread asking for alternatives, with similar features. A little search I made doesn't seem to help on this.

(MyPal is not an option, as it behaves exactly the same as Pale Moon. Even its bookmarks are the same when it starts.)

Since MyPal is based on Palemoon for XP, I'm not surprised that it acts the same.

You could try Waterfox https://www.waterfox.net/
I had a portable version installed on my netbook. There is no 32 bit version so I could not try it on my desktop.

Perhaps Pale Moon realized that I got angry with it and decided to change behavior! It's the second day with no problems at all. I will give it some days more to check it. I still wonder what the cause of the problem was/is.

Weird. But then computers and the associated behaviors still manage to surprise me almost daily!
I hope Palemoon continues to behave for you.
