Discouraging SPAM

Last year I sold my house.  Since then I get OFFERS to SELL, NEW MORTGAGE RATES, HOME WARRANTY, etc.
Is there a way I can discourage these sites from sending the garbage?  I know most of this are generated e-mails as Reply does nothing.  I sure would like to discourage them as they upset me.

I have found that the Outlook.com spam filter works quite well.  I also use Rules with it so that email from specific sources are directed to the folder of my choice.  That said, I know that Digerati has long been using MailWasher Pro.  Here's an example of one of his posts mentioning MailWasher: http://www.landzdown.com/general-software-news-updates-discussions/email-clients/msg185965/#msg185965.  From the website, there is also a free version:  http://www.mailwasher.net/
