Free Bitdefender Anti-Ransom Tool released

Antivirus firm Bitdefender has released a free tool that can prevent computers from being infected with some of the most widespread file-encrypting ransomware programs: Locky, TeslaCrypt and CTB-Locker.

Anti-virus software vendor Bitdefender released a free tool can be used to clean systems infected by several growing ransomware strains.
The decryption tool protects infections from the rising ransomware family Locky, and two older ransomware strains CTB-Locker and TeslaCrypt that recently resurfaced, the company said.

Bitdefender anti-ransomware deployed in a WindowsXP environment - users (thus far) are claiming ease of use. This would not include preventing or removing ransomware.
