Title: Linux stuff or tux fan club
Post by: mitch on December 14, 2006, 06:44:35 PM
there seems to be a few linux folks here
i am NOT a expert and still learning about my distro and can not give much support at all !!!!!
but i was thinking
to prevent getting post hijacked if there is enough interest we could work this topic
and if popular enough maybe have a topic????

ok i'll start it off

i use Ubuntu and some use pc linux

so for standard web and mail do you think linux is ready for prime time? or still just a toy and needs a lot more work ?

for anyone that wants to know a bit about linux any questions?
or wonder what a "live cd" is

i upgraded to firefox 2 and have been slow surfing since then !

lot of "looking up's "and such and takes forever for a page to start to load

i found this on the web and tried it and
wow FF is back to normal again !

Start Firefox and in the url field type.............about:config

scroll on down  and you will find this one

One of the entries will be this: network.dns.disable.IPv6 default boolean false

Now double-click on that entry and it will change to: network.dns.disable.IPv6 user set boolean true

Close Firefox

Restart Firefox

if no change just go back and double click it ;-))))
