and in the story they say no good accounting programs? well think there is one and i even think it can import quickends files ;-D
but i still use my financial management system... reach in my pocket and if empty i really didn't need it ;-D
open office does a great job and can open edit and save the ms office stuff and several others
and GIMP is a nice photo edit program
and one nice thing about Ubuntu.... i click one button to "check for updates" and it will update all the software i have on my system, programs and even things i have downloaded ;-D
the only major drawback to it is it really doesn't like softmodems but once i joined the 20th centruy that problem was solved here
and where else can you get a cd shipped for free and see if you like it for free? and don't even have to install it on your system
to try it !
and i love the cost (free)
very nice!
ubuntu is backed by a millionaire and many many major companies have thus partnered with ubuntu.
should be interesting in the months ahead. :)
