Title: C:\Program Files...How to reset hidden status?
Post by: 10rand on September 17, 2005, 04:23:49 PM
I use Windows XP Home SP2. In Windows Explorer, the folders are on the left hand pane and their contents shown on the right hand pane. If you select Program Files, their content is Hidden by default. There is a blue screen that says: 'The contents of this folder are hidden, then there is a line that says 'Show the contents of this folder.'  I had selected to show the contents of this folder. How do I set the contents of this folder back to their hidden status. Thanks

10rand  , hi :)

Open Explorer and in the toolbar click on "Tools>Folder options" and under the tab "View"  uncheck "Show hidden files and folders. Also see if "Hide protected system files" is unchecked, then check it

'Hide protected operating system files' checked, 'Show hidden files and folders' unchecked and 'Display the contents of system files' is also unchecked. But the problem remains. I only change the settings when I'm scanning with anti-spyware, after the scans I reset them back. Thanks. :(
