hi all,
i ran panda activescan (online) just now and i have 2 hits in the catagory: hacking tools and rootkits.
they are:
C:\hp\bin\Killit.exe
C:\Program Files|Ghosts Downloads\nsli.exe
i did not disinfect because i believe they are false positives. should i scan with a scanner specifically for hacking tools/rootkits and if so which one/ones, or scan with my av/as first and see what comes up?
thanks,
G
Killit.exe is from Compaq or HP so if your machine is one these, that is why
.nsli.exe is AnalogX software, maybe Cookie Wall or POW?
As an aside to this post, there are currently 7 rootkit scanners for Vista:
