Hi

Just same thing as your other log:

Close all programs leaving only HijackThis running.  Place a check against each of the following,

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: Domain = sshla.local
O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: Domain = sshla.local
O17 - HKLM\System\CS2\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: Domain = sshla.local

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Just to add to this, update both java and adobe...Both way out of date..

Make sure and uninstall the old versions of java first..Instructions below..

SunJava Instructions: http://securitygarden.blogspot.com/2006/09/sunflowers-and-sunjava-update.html

C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\bin\npjpi150_06.dll

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Acrobat\AcroIEFavClient.dll

Thanks numbnuts :

I flat missed the Java out dated  :smash:, but I think that they have a full version of Acrobat, not Acrobat reader.  That is a $150.00 USD update.

Looking again they also have an 04 - KLM\..\Run: [Adobe Reader Speed Launcher] "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\Reader_sl.exe"

Also shows that have a reminder to order an new ink cartridge, but they may want that reminder. I left it.

Temmu :

Do you still have anything you use that is the paid version of Acrobat ?

BG, Temmu has Acrobat on the W2K box too and I saw distiller in startup.  However, Reader 8.0 can still be installed and then Acrobat used as needed, preferably off-line.

Time to not double-up, but triple-up on Temmu!  (Since I've known Temmu quite a few years, I'm sure he'll forgive all the interaction here.)

Temmu, if you ran http://secunia.com/software_inspector/ on the W2K box as I suggested, did you run it on this one too?  Doesn't look like it.

this machine (the xp one) was running at a dead-slow crawl, my friend reloaded it

the other machine (win 2k) ... oops!  i will go back to it today and run the secunia thingy you suggested and will report in the other thread.

thanks, numbnuts, basementgeek and corrine!
