Title: Internet Explorer-W32sinnaka.a@mm Virus Problems
Post by: Ray on October 15, 2005, 03:43:13 AM
I am having problems with a Virus which pops up when I logon to Internet Explorer to use Yahoo.com.  When I do a message comes up thru the Security Center that "Your private info is collected by W32.sinnaka.a@mm.  After giving an IP Address of numbers it proceeds to fill my screen with Security Products for me to buy and locks up my screen with these products on the screen.  This does not happen with AOL.  Any ideas ?  Ray

Hello, Ray  :lzd:
Have you run an online virus/Trojan scan yet? That may be helpful.
I think you have a virus/worm please run at least 3 of these Online Scans..

Read this please: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.sinnaka.a@mm.html

Online Scan Sites:

bitdefender
http://www.bitdefender.com/scan/licence.php

Panda (http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm)
Symantec (http://security.symantec.com/ssc/home.asp?j=1&langid=us&venid=sym&plfid=23&pkj=AUVCCVGZBZTVOGXFSTZ)
TrendMicro (http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp)
A2 Trojan Scan (http://onlinecheck.emsisoft.com/en/Default.aspx)

Can you then post the results of the virus scans?

Then can you please post a full Ad-aware logfile for us to see?

Hi, Ray.

Please see my instructions in your post at Freedomlist:  http://www.freedomlist.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=154610#154610

If you would like to continue here, post the complete Ad-Aware logfile in the Anti-Spyware Software (http://www.landzdown.com/index.php/board,6.0.html) forum.  Otherwise, post the new logfile in a reply in your Freedomlist thread.  We are happy to assist either way.  :)
